Borrowed car

My cousin is coming over here for a short visit and I would like to lend him my car. He has a full, clean driving license for this country and no claims at home. Is it easier, cheaper to add him to my insurance and hope he doesn’t have a prang or can he get his own insurance for 3 weeks for my car? Thanks in advance.

  • Cuvva do short term insurance but it's almost certainly more expensive than adding him to your policy.
  • If you add him to your insurance and he has an accident it will effect your policy beyond his stay, probably best for him to take his own policy out even though it will be more expensive. There are numerous short term motor policy companies out there. I suggest you try insure4aday or similar company to get an online quote. Best of luck.
