Decking/Patio lighting

Hi all, so when i moved into my house one of the first issues i found was the garden lights tripped the fuse every time they're turned on. did some digging, turns out under the decking the previous owner really badly bodged the decking lighting. this guy ran a 4 way plug extension directly to the interior light socket, water tightening it by using a sandwich box! I disconnected this as soon as i found it.
My question is, can decking lights be wired (correctly) to an internal socket? If so, how??

I don't think so. Get an external, compliant socket fitted or go for solar lights if they can be south-facing.0

Get someone who knows what they're doing to sort it.0
