    6 inches is too small a distance to be accurately shown on a map drawn to a scale of 1/1250. The thickness of the re line itself can be greater than 6 inches on the ground so you have to bear that in mind when looking at any plan drawn to a scale.

    The key to any plan is what is it's purpose. The MapSearch plan is an indicative plan showing the indexed Land Registry titles only
    A title plan shows the registered extent by use of a red outline to show the general boundaries.
    Their purposes are different as a result with the first helping a conveyancer identify the registered title they then need to obtain and check.

    The plot thickens...

    This is what the title plan shows. It does seems to have a strange strip of land at the front of the property that we dont own.

    Image link fixed. You need to wrap the actual image file in the tags, not the full page from the hosting site - the "Embed tags" tab is the easiest way to get to it, or just right-click on the image and "Open image in new tab" or similar, depending on your browser.
