Amazon Returns

I have been a Amazon customer for years but only rarely have had to return items. Until today all I have had to do was print a label and stick it in the post for free.
Today I got my parcel with one item damaged and one item I had mistakenly ordrered 2 instead of one.
No bother I thought I will just return them. But they want £3.99 to return the unwanted items which only total £10ish!
I have contacted seller about damaged item, is there anything else I can do?
I guess I should be more careful and check each items return policy?
And make sure I don't order extra items:rotfl:

I have found the "reason" you select for the return sometimes determines if the return is free or not.
If you selected, accidental order, then it's likely will want to charge you, as its your fault.
If you select, damaged goods, then it changes it to free.
Not that I am suggesting anything........0 -
Thank you, I am happy enough to keep the extra item as it can still be used or sold, I will try to return the damaged one.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0

They were Marketplace sellers I think dispatched by Amazon, I have now worked out if I put "defective" rather than damaged I can send it back for free. Thank you LawAbiding. I will keep my extra purchase as that is my fault and I am sure it will get used sometime.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0
