Can I Claim PPI on Joint Mortgage?

I had a joint mortgage with my sister between 2001 and 2005, on which we had PPI. We were told at the time that it was compulsory in order to go ahead with the mortgage. I made a claim using the Resolver tool and was told that although I did have the PPI, I had previously made a claim which had been rejected. Actually, I have never made a claim but I believe my sister might have.

Surely if the PPI was optional but we were told it was compulsory, then it was mis-sold?
So why was my sister's claim rejected?
And can I still make a claim in my own right?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you were lied to then it is a missale. However, sometimes MPPI was compulsory to get a particular mortgage deal. That is allowed.

However, if we assume you claim you were lied to then it is a notoriously hard one to prove. You almost certainly have no evidence to back up your allegation. So, its rare for a complaint to succeed on that particular complaint reason.

So why was my sister's claim rejected?

Probably no evidence to support a wrongdoing.

And can I still make a claim in my own right?

No. The complaint was made and rejected. You can only complain once per product/reason.
