Child Benefit Question

Hi all,

We have recently had baby number 3

We called the Child Benefit number to register him and done okay

Was told on the phone that we would get 3 weeks backdated for him which would come within 14 days

Its now been 17 days, should I chase this or is it likely that it will be backdated on the next child benefit payment and was informed incorrectly on the phone?

Did they mean 14 business days? In which case don't forget to add in the weekends. Also they possibly have staff shortages due to annual leave so it might take a little longer than normal..

No, not for child benefit, there's no limit. You're thinking of tax credits/universal credit, if the child was born after April 201. https://www.gov.uk/child-benefit
