I jumped on the scales this morning...no that is not true, I gingerly lowered myself on the scales this morning and it was good news. I lost 13lb this week so that was a good start. I am feeling very positive and determined, I just wish I could bottle this feeling for when it all seems a bit much.
Blooming brilliant! :j Mostly water I assume but still - blooming brilliant!ScarletRibbons wrote: »Oh Gers, I've just read your post and laughed at "Gan Canny"!! Once or twice I've nearly signed off with that but thought they'll wonder what I'm on about!

Morning all for a sunny Mehefinland
Been MIA for some time as RL got in the way so will provide a quick update.
Me - Back nw ok, but cataract is getting worse. Have to close the 'bad' eye to read. or type etc. On a list.. what more can I say.
Mehefinmare is newly shod and acting like a 2yr old again.
Bruisemare sadly is in a bad way. She has developed laminitis in all 4 hooves, after the saga of the never ending poulticing and the one foot in particular is giving much cause for concern. It could go either way atm so we are trying to keep her comfortable while nature does its bit. The normal 3 steps forward 2 back has been reversed, and she had been doing really well. Suspect its because we had farrier trim back some of the foot and refit her heartbar shoe ( for the uninitiated they are special shaped shoes to give support to the pedal bone )
Been dead lame ever since.
DS has succumbed to pressure from the b1tch from hell and has accepted another job in Salisbury. When he told her on Saturday she blew her top with him as he hadn't told her before. He didn't decide until the Friday night whether to take it or not.I know that she would have just been badgering him to resign from his current one immediately. She wont leave her home for him though.
We have just got to the stage where we say sod it . Got more important things to worry about.
Hugs and spoons as always.

Dumpling, well done.
TA, enjoy your day out.
We are Ziggyless! We took her with us to pick up Laura and Brian and they have kept her until Thursday when they are off to a music festival. They have booked a yurt rather than camping but rather her than me at 30 weeks pregnant.
So today I'm going to go through the house like a dose of salts (maybe over ambitious).0 -
Wow what a lot is going on this morning! Hope everyone who is unwell or sore feels better soon, and brilliant weight loss going on!
I'm busy remaking jam, it didn't set so have added some apple sauce from the freezer and some more sugar and it's back on cooking.
Ponios all out last night so very relaxed and happy this morning. Might get around to some gardening later if this lovely sunshine lasts, washing machine earning its keep this morningWeight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to goI spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough0 -

Morning all. Well, we had the big chat with docs yesterday and father now knows that his disease has passed beyond any treatment . There is talk of moving him to a closer hospital for care and he has to decide what he wants to do. In some way this seems to have been a relief because now he is in charge of what happens. Had also been moved to a single room so he can get some rest, the doctor moved him within five minutes of him speaking to him..the same doctor treated my mother and they used to chat in Italian and he did the same with my sister yesterday.
I feel glad i don't have to keep the secret now,and we are both aware that hard times are coming and we both have to put on our biggest girls pants. We are seeing the good cancer nurse again today to see what's in motion.
Today I'm going to bag up the grass I strimmed last week and attempt the shed break in and find another electrician to phone. It isn't raining yet so i have to take advantage of that.
Dumpling, that's great, hope your legs are feeling the benefit and good luck to Lilly! Gers, also good news about your foot! TA, decisions, decisionsAOD, hope you didn't need your bramble tooth again...red, is it the plantar fasciitis? The doc should inject you with steroid, don't know if the nurses do that. Speky, should you not be doing what you usually do to give a realistic picture? SR, i tried that before, it's surprising how difficult it was in terms of stretching your hands for example, I salute you! Mehefin, nice to see you, sorry about bruisemare and your son...good news about your back though! Snoozer, slow up on the salts
Wotcha people MIA

Morning all
Sunshine & showers again but I had a nice dogwalk earlier.DGD may be staying over later as she's off on hols on Thursday so I dont need to do much tidying cos she'll only mess it up again
I do want to sort some of my craft stuff out and send some to the CS, I seem to make fewer cards these days.
I'm going to cook a chicken for tea but grab a piece of gammon out for DS2.The bm is on the dough programme, the loaf can go in when the chicken is cooking.
Mehefin sorry to hear you cant see properly and that Bruisemare is so bad on her hooves, horrible when animals aren't well.Hope DS new job goes well.
RR - end of Sept for the doc  thats awful.Hope the nurse is useful.
Dumpling - well done !
wmf glad to hear DS eczema has improved now he's older, sadly that hasn't happened here, he's a bit older than your Ds.He keeps trying stuff out though;)
Right off to sort stuff - have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Taff - a clear road ahead really helps! I know you'll all navigate it well with lots of support. Hugs to you and your Dad.
My trip out was enjoyable as I haven't been on a longish drive for ages. Even the motorway has had changes where the M8 meets the M74 with a tricky new exit. Anyway, the tech took five minutes to colour match and will make the new crowns now. My next appointment at the dentist is on 03 Sept. No more whitening to be done.
I collected DM's scripts and got most of them filled. One item has had to be ordered for tomorrow. I also bought a compression bandage for my ankle which is helping - I'll wear it a night to try prevent the injury happening again.
Now I think I'm due a wee snooze!0 -
~taff, am thinking of you and your dad, must be so very hard.
Dumpling, hope things go well for Lilley and great about the weight loss even if some is water, it won't all be that.
Yes I did need my bramble tooth sadly missing but I do have tweezers at least but I'm so right handed, totally clumsy with the left hand so today it took a while. Nice little dish of blackberries for them though.
Mehefin sorry to hear about your poor mare.
Is it nearly bedtime yet, can't wait.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
