PCN for pub car park

Hi

The KEEPER of the vehicle has received a PCN through which says a charge of £85 is due to a private company.

The DRIVER of the vehicle visited a pub at night and didn't see that the car park required payment which could then be refunded at the bar of the pub. As it was dark, any signs (if there were any) were poorly lit and missed. The DRIVER did actually use the pub facility and has proof of a partners bank statement that shows money spent at the pub. Therefore, this parking ticket is invalid.

Please advise

Speak to the pub MANAGER to cancel for a genuine customer.

If they are unhelpful and this is part of a large chain google the CEO email with a polite but firm complaint stating how disappointed you are that visiting their premises attracts a £85 surcharge.

Also refer to the NEWBIES thread (one click back third thread down) and send the BLUE appeal template unaltered as KEEPER.
  • You also need to edit your original post.

The DRIVER visited the pub whilst the KEEPER has received the PCN - they are 2 different people.
  • Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try what you suggested above and let you know how it goes.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
