Principal elevation and outbuildings - plan attached

Hello fellow DIY'ers

I am searching for some advice on whether my plans for building a shed/outbuilding would be considered permitted development. I would like to avoid going through the planning office in the first instance.

I am having difficulties interpreting what my 'principal elevation' is, due to my front entrance being on the side of my house on the end of a row of terraced houses. I have a wrap-around garden which does not border a highway used by vehicles.

I have attached a photo of a rough plan showing my property and where I plan to build a shed.

When I purchased the property there was already a shed in a location some may consider to be beyond my principal elevation.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

principal elevation is the one where the car is parked, the 'street line'.

The principal elevation probably is still what most people would consider the front, but your public footpath may also affect what can be built on elevations facing a highway. A footpath is still counted as a highway.

If you are being prudent, you should take advice from the planning office. Some still offer free drop-in surgeries, others you have to pay for pre-application advice.
