Ah, sorry. It did not occur to me that IFAs would be forced to used certain platforms. It really just means that ongoing management is something you should try to avoid having your IFA do for you. Save thousands by doing it yourself, and maybe just getting a "review" done each year if the IFA has come up with something complicated you don't actually understand yourself.

You mention a care needs annuity - there are (I think) only 2 companies selling these, and they are sone via IFA's. If you go with an IFA, check if they are able to advise on this as well, as it may save having to change again / incur added costs when/if the time comes.
