Gladstone address change

Hi All,
Recently I received an LBC from Gladstone to an old address. Luckily it was forwarded to me. But that forwarding service has now stopped.
I replied to the LBC and part of that reply was a request to update my address. I got the standard reply from Leane asking for a utility bill, which I’ve created a response for. However they have already written to me at my new address without me requesting an address change. I’m assuming when I updated my vehicle information they got this and contact me the car owner, and now they are pursuing me the potential driver. Is this still the best course of action? Or do I have a better course of action.
I couldn’t find this specific information anywhere, just wanted to check I was doing the right thing. Sorry if it’s already out there.
Thanks for your time.

If you want to use a recent utility bill, redact the customer reference
Also email it to the DPO at the PPC involved, as a data rectification notice, which is what you are talking about
Or read and follow the recent post by Johnnersh about this same topic0 -
No you will need to send proof of address change. Gladstones one of few companies who require this.
Leane Hayward you mean0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I'm particularly interested in that they have written to me at my new address already and have gone back to my old one. I have seen a few cases on the forum where contacting them asking them again to change address has lead to address change without a bill.
Currently looking for the johnnersh post.0 -
they can only get car data once from DVLA (ask DVLA if you want!) , they will have used a trace co or https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/60367720
