    The house has obviously had some cheap alterations in the past, looking at the window that is not centred and is really close to the edge of the wall.
    It's possible that the correct support was not used for the window.

    Seems that there used to be a load bearing window there before, maybe with a nice timber frame, and then it was replaced by a upvc one without proper support?
