Ah, technical terms always useful! Thanks!

RTI = Real Time Information which is the information feed DWP get from HMRC.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Does the RTI simply show what the employer reports to HMRC? Work only send off one report reach month, at the end of the pay period, so HMRC reported to DWP that I'd earned over £600, with nothing to show that more than half of that having been paid before my claim. (It's listed as 'deductions' but no date specified on the payslip.)

I've sent in a copy of my bank statement and my work coach is going to ask her manager about it. If they won't/can't do anything about it, it looks like I'll have a fight on my hands just for my first UC payment :wall:

Edit: she said she's put in my dispute and it will go to the case manager; a decision will take around 10 days. It sounds like it counts as a mandatory reconsideration, even though I didn't use their form or use the term MR?

RTI does just show what the employer reports so if the employer reporting is wrong the RTI is wrong. DWP have discretion to override the information obtained through RTI if it is shown to be wrong..

  • Phone call today and thankfully they have used their discretion and decided already! I'm so relieved. Now I just have to wait for them to do the recalculation correctly and that'll be that :D
