Forgot to cancel Tastecard trial

I signed up for a 60 day trial to Tastecard which gives you discounts at restaurants etc.
I forgot to cancel the trial which was completely my fault I understand that but I have been charged £39.99 after the trial.
Is there any way whatsoever that I can get this refunded? Like I say I know this is completely my fault but I just wanted to see if there was anything I can do such as a chargeback etc

If you ask them nicely you may get a refund (doubtful but if you don't ask.....).
On what grounds would you seek a chargeback. You have paid for a service and would get that service.0 -
You're relying on goodwill I'm afraid, so ask nicely. They're not obliged to refund you and a chargeback would be contested and reversed even if you could persuade the card company to implement it.0

Their business model probably relies on a sizeable portion of customers forgetting to cancel so it's unlikely they'll refund I'm afraid but there's no harm in asking.
Forget about a chargeback/S75. You can only use these for breach of contract.0 -
Accept your mistake and enjoy the subscription - I doubt they'll refund.0

Have you cancelled it now? you don't want the same happening next year0

Maybe you should make a note somewhere (whether paper or your phone) to cancel any subscriptions before more money is taken.0
