Parking charge notice

Hi,

I’m a delivery driver for Hermes so work from my own car which obviously isn’t marked like a Royal Mail or DPD vehicle would be. Today I received a parking charge notice whilst delivering to some flats and parked next to a Royal Mail van. He did not get one. I had a note in my window saying ‘delivery driver, be back in 5’ and the Royal Mail van did not get a ticket. There is no where else to park for these flats and I had a big heavy parcel so this was my only option. The charge is £100 which I feel is excessive, I was only there for 8 minutes. Do I have to pay at all? Google seems to be telling me no but I’m not sure!

Thanks

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to get an understanding of the game you are now caught up in and how to deal with this

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

If you have inadvertently used your real name as your forum name then get mse to change it to something anonymous

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you in Court

Are you the registered keeper of the vehicle, or is it a company/leased one?

    Which PPC scammer?

Some are easy to beat at appeal. Others are easy to beat in court - in your case, part of your defence would be to prove the delivery and use Jopson v Homeguard.

No-one would pay this but it's important to know the answers to the above 2 questions.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
