Washing Machine Fault

I have just discovered that my washing machine has been leaking due to a known manufacturing fault (thorugh a nice repair man who left his laptop and an open document visible for me).
Am I entitled to anything from the manufatcurer?

You'd need to actually prove that this was a known manufacturing fault.

If it's outside the manufacturer's warranty period then you won;t be entitled to anything from them, however you could exercise your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 against the retailer.

    How old is the machine?
  • It is only 8 months old. We bought it in January

Speak to the retailer, but you will need to prove that the fault is inherent.

Why was the repair man called out? I assume that given the machine's age, he was sent out by the retailer?
  • We spoke to the washing manufacturer regarding the leak and they arranged for one of their repairmen to visit.
