Yeah I know. Although I already listed it as a pre-existing condition and paid a premium because of that. What is the point of that if they then don't cover it.
The point in declaring is that if you don't, your whole policy could be void, for not declaring a pre-existing condition

It's the OP that has changed the goalposts so that they won't cover you (maybe because it's soon before you travel)

If you want to be covered for the upcoming trip rather than go to USA and risk expensive medical bills for any emergency connected to the condition see if any specialist in pre existing conditions insurer will cover you

What do you mean by changed the goalposts? I'm not disputing it, but I dont know how things work. I thought that by declaring a condition you would then be covered for anything associated with that pre-existing condition instead of just new things that could occur while away.

I didnt even know there was such a thing as specialists in pre-existing conditions for travel... Any recommendations or ideas where to even start with something like that?

The goal posts changed when your notified condition subsequently progressed to an operation

See the mse guide to travel insurance for those with pre existing conditions

looks like you will need to pay for physio privately, travel insurance is not like private medical when anything new is covered after the insurance has started

Your insurance would cover anything unexpected that arose while you were abroad that could be related to the pre existing condition.

Needing ongoing physio before you go is not something that arose when abroad. It is ongoing treatment which would not be covered.

Thanks all. I understand a bit better now. There was no option to put down about any surgery so could only go with 'tendon injury'.

I will look into the links advised about it all.
