Issue getting back deposit

I moved out of a house in Dec. last year:
- Agent claimed it needed a professional clean after I moved out and that they could provide photos
- I asked for photos and a copy of the invoice plus breakdown of costs
- They now won't respond to emails/voicemails etc. (I don't live in that area any more so can't go to the office) - yet have the time to reject my claim for the return of the deposit on the DPS website
- Deposit protection service say they can only agree to release my deposit when the agent agrees - I am submitting my disagreement through the website - should I agree to use their dispute resolution service?

Yes you should agree to use the dispute resolution service and should have done it in January to be honest.
You submit any evidence or photos that you do have and the landlord / agent will do the same.0 -
Just submit a dispute through the tenancy deposit scheme.
If you are now out of time for submitting a deposit through the DPS scheme, you will have to start a small claim against your landlord.0
