AutoAccept Finance Refuse PPI Claim

Really hoping someone can help me please? I initially submitted a PPI claim in October 2010 to Auto-Accept Finance however, I didn't hear anything back from them, time passed and I didn't follow it up. I re-submitted another letter just recently for which they've replied back using a copy of their original response to my original letter dated 2010 (which I never received).
They've refused the claim stating...
'We are satisfied that our representative explained that the policy was optional, we say this as the Loan agreement completed at the point of sale states that you wished to purchase a PPI policy. We note that the Agreement and the PPI agreement was signed by you (i.e. you signed a document where the insurances were clearly separated from the loan agreement to confirm you wish to take out the PPI insurance - indeed you signed a pre contact prior to the main agreement which also indicated your PPI policy separately). Further our representative explained the cost of the policy, we say this because the agreement that you signed clearly shows the overall cost separately from the credit amount'
It then goes on to say that I have not provided ant evidence to suggest that I was not made aware of the cost of the policy and that I signed and accepted the T&C's and that if I disagree with the decision to respond by November 2010.
I'm totally at a loss if I have a valid claim or not. I did fall behind with the payments as I lost my job. I am unsure if I actually informed them of my employment situation at the time as I did manage to catch up and pay the finance off in full. At the time my credit history was bad and remember being led to believe that If I took out the policy, the finance would be agreed.
I'm not sure where I go from here and if anyone could offer any help regarding this I really would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

If it was 2010, your complaint is over, because if it was sold after2005, you had six months to go to the FOS. They will not reopen a complaint unless there are exceptional circumstances.
As long as the company show they posted the letter, you are expected to have received it.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

I'm afraid you are long past the six month deadline for referring this complaint to FOS and your complaint was basically over years ago.

Thank you for your help. The copy of their reply clearly shows it was sent to my previous address and so that’s why i didn’t receive the letter.. This probably doesn’t make a difference i’m guessing?0

Did you inform the Bank of your address change?
Bluntly, sending a duplicate complaint almost a decade on could be deemed vexatious.0 -
Appreciate your reply so thank you. It’s more complicated than i’m explaining. I informed them of my new address etc and at the time was working out of the country. The original letter only gave me 14 days to respond so with work, even if it had been sent to my correct address i wouldn’t have been in their time frame. Then, in 2013 my partner was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and so since then, it’s been the last thing on my mind. I can totally appreciate what your saying though.. It does seem off but thank you anyway0

You can try asking the FOS if they will overturn a timebar outlining your circumstances but don't hope and you won't be disappointed.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
