Parking eye - Possible PCN due to wrong car reg entered

Hi,

Just need some advice if the owner of the car vehicle should contact the car park management company before the PCN gets issued

A car was parked in a car park, managed by ParkingEye. The owner of the vehicle is a customer at the restaurant, therefore it is free for parking. When asked to enter the car reg on to the system, one of the characters is incorrect and was only noticed the very next day

Should the owner of the vehicle contact ParkingEye directly or wait until the PCN has been issued and appeal? If the latter, what are the chances for successfully appealing the PCN? Please note, the car reg that was entered onto the system, does not exist

Thanks for reading

    Should I contact Parking Eye

    No.

You should also remove all and any references to who was driving the car. Don't for example say "I was" etc.

Wait and see what happens then follow the guides on here.

    Hi

Thanks for your quick reply and the advice. I will keep it in mind not to say who was the driver.

Out of curiosity (and being so ignorate), what is the reason for this?! I mean, the person who is going to appeal the PCN, is going to be either the driver or the owner of the car?

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 where all your queries above are answered. We can get up to 100 threads a day all asking very basic questions, which would be impossible for the handful of regular volunteers to answer that many times a day, and especially prevent them from being able to assist in cases further down the line which become far more complicated.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You need to edit your posts NOW and remove information about who parked. Do this before you do anything else. Parking scammers read these fora and have been know to use information from posts made here against them during the appeal stage and in court.

Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. One has protections in law that the other does not.

You should also ask oldernotwiser to delete or edit their post where they have quoted yours that gives away the driver's derails.

The NEWBIES explains why you should not reveal the driver's identity.
Note that neither the driver or owner will be appealing.
