Double glazed door lock

Could be able to tell me if you can change the lock on your door so when you close it ,it automatically locks and will only re-open with a key. I have a forgetful partner who forgets to push handle up and lock door!!!

You can get locks that dont need a key on inside like these you mean

Would that mean the door would just click closed without having to insert key from the outside and you would need to key to reopen?

You use the lock as normal on outside with key but inside you can unlock without a key. Most of the cheap euro locks are very easy to break in

I believe the OP wants one that locks automatically, like a night latch.

I wonder that but she also said he forget to push handle up. if its like my patio doors you can only lock the lock if you push handle up first then turn lock with a key

Sounds like you want some kind of latch like this

That wouldn't really work on double glazed door though. I assume with its double glazed it will be a euro cylinder type of lock

Thanks for all your replies. To clarify what the problem is - my husband , when going out, just closes the door and forgets to lock it.
No one is in the house so left unlocked. I need a doorlock that automatically locks as the door closes. Thanks

When I had a new door fitted the fitters put in a door such as yours that need locking rather than the one I asked for, ie one that you have to lock. I though I would give it a try as you cant lock yourself out! But later decided to have it changed. All the fitter did was to change the spindle so now I make sure I have a key available outside in a safe place.
