Hello, I overstayed my welcome in a NPS car park which reads your number plate upon entry and exit. I received 2 letters from NPS both of which I ignored then a DCBL letter came stating I had to now pay £160. This is where I panicked, rang DCBL and NPS who said there is nothing I can do about it. What are my options? Will they leave me alone? Thank you.

Post four of the Newbies Sticky covers DCBL completely - and the rest of the thread will inform you properly and lay-out your remaining options.0

Never ring a debt collector. On the reverse of the letter does it say something like "this is not a bailiff letter"
If so, a simple nonsense debt letter which you ignore
DCBL has added a fake £60 which is a scam

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your OP to remove details of who was driving

Do you think this will be pursued further with the mistake of calling them?0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
