Dash cam not charging

    The O.P. hasn't indicated the make/model of the camera. Does it actually have a built in battery? It might have a capacitor instead.
    "It was never switched on before use and was brand new in the box?" Installed in the vehicle properly?

    It doesn't have a brand, it's just lease plan dash cam. I tried it in my mum's car and same probably so guess it's not my car then.

    If its usb it'll be 5v. If you've got a usb to micro usb lead and a usb charger try charging it at home rather than in the car.


    All car charges will be 12v with a 5v output if usb however some have a lower amp hour output which might not be enough for this camera. If charging at home works a charger providing higher amp hours might work.
