Florida is getting very popular now especially in the more temperate months of Jan-March. Easter is busy as the school hols etc. I always book early for the USA. It does not usually get any cheaper, except perhaps standby, but dates get more limited the longer you leave it. ( for example the cost of a flight to NY I booked on Friday has risen by over £200 in 2 days, for departure next week)
I advise to book early. Post some rough dates, Do you mind changing airports? Where do you wish to fly from?

Have a look at the aerlingus site.. https://www.aerlingus.co.uk

We are going back in September  this year and got flights for a total of 701 euros, after conversion it was about £469 or £235 each.

We booked in February and for the same dates now they want about 1200 euros.

I think with flights that if your are going scheduled (sp?) (Aer Lingus, Virgin etc) then you are better booking as soon as possible as the price always rises.
Where as with chartered flights (Airtours, TCD etc) then you are better booking as late as possible.

Though this really depends on the size of your group. If there is more than 2 or 3 of you going then I wouldn't chance waiting till the last minute.

We were thinking of october next year. We are going to take the kids out of school for at least 2 weeks and maybe overlap the school holiday by a week. I'm not sure of the exact dates yet.

    There will be 4 adults, a 9yrold, 8yr, 6yr and 2yr old children.
I want to fly from manchester, but if it meant a big big saving I don't mind changing over somewhere rather than going direct.

Is there a price list for the parks out there ? I'm wondering if it's cheaper to buy the tickets on the door or buy in advance.

You would not be able to book tickets until Nov of this year. There is usually about 330 days/300 days maximum booking lead time. October would be a good time to go and you should get a well priced ticket.

If you buy just a flight then this is correct, however if you are wanting a fly drive to Florida and book through (say) Virgin Holidays, you will be able to book before then, you will be subject only to the brochure availability. Fortunately Virgin are pretty good at getting their brochures out early!

We booked at the beginning of March 2005 for flights out on 31 March 2006 from Gatwick to Orlando with Virgin Atlantic. There was nothing available from Gatwick until either 6 April, when the Easter holiday prices kicked in, or, coming forwards, on 28 March, when there were 9 seats left. So we booked 4 of those!

A lot of the school districts now have a two week holiday before Easter and it is very popular! So anyone that wants to go then, needs to get in early. I imagine it could be the same for the October holiday that also is two weeks in the 6-term areas.

We (well I!) did a lot of price comparison shopping and we found Virgin Holidays to be the best. They do a 5% ( I think) discount online and by far the biggest selection of accommodation, we had one of their 3 bed villas and it was lovely - could be the best value for your family.

I have no connection with Virgin Holidays/Atlantic other than they have been really good for us in the past and I wouldn't choose anyone else!

You may well want your own thread but you will find all the answers to park tickets in the thread at the top of the board. :p
