About two months ago I received the dreaded ESA renewal forms. I duly completed them and as my last review was only a year previous I sent the old evidence. I advised them as the review was so recent I didn't have any new medical info and nothing had changed.
I have been waiting for my assessment letter to come through, yet today I received a brown envelope from the DWP advising "following a change of circumstances" I will be put in the support group and my payments will continue two weekly. (I was already in support group)
I assume this means they have decided not to do a face to face and have passed me on the forms I filled in? I'm frightened to ring and ask because I desperately don't want to go through another assessment.

They have a very strange way of wording letters but for me the ESA decision letter is even more strange. I would assume that the "change of circumstances" to mean the review and you have been kept in the Support Group, especially if it states "your payments will continue"longleggedhair wrote: »About two months ago I received the dreaded ESA renewal forms. If it was me to put my mind at rest i'd ring ESA on Monday morning just to check that is the decision. I know ringing is stressful but for me, i'd rather know for sure that keep wondering.0 -
I just think it's another example of the appalling way many letters from DWP are worded. Wording along the lines of "following the recent review..." you will remain in the Support Group.
I wouldn't call them unless you feel you won't be able to settle otherwise.0 -
ESA letters always seem to be the worst. Attached calculations explaining the amount of award are very hard to follow and never up to date/do not correspond to the period of award detailed in the letter. Yet someone the claimant is supposed to know if they are being incorrectly paid and to notify the DWP of any errors.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
