Hi, I am a newbie. In 1995 The Bradford and Bingley compulsorily made us take out their home insurance so we could get their best mortgage offer. It was locked in for the 5 years of the fixed mortgage term and was very expensive, negating any saving of the preferential mortgage rate.
Does this count as mis-sold PPI?
Thanks

Home Insurance is not PPI.
Note that not all insurance policies were PPI and not even all PPI was mis-sold.
In the 1990s Banks and Building Societies often made mortgage deals conditional of taking insurance, this was allowed and so not mis-sold.

PPi is a product. So, its a bit like saying does this sound like a banana. Or does it sound like a bag of potatoesIn 1995 The Bradford and Bingley compulsorily made us take out their home insurance
As we allowed. It was about then that the need for compulsory own brand insurance was ending.0 -
In 1994 I was negotiating a mortgage with Halifax BS and they 'strongly recommended' I took out Homeguard Insurance with Guardian Financial Services. I took it out in 1994 and cancelled it in 2015. Could I claim for being wrongly sold this product?0

Hi, I bought a coffee this morning and it came with a cardboard sleeve so that I didn’t burn my hand whilst I was drinking it. Does this count as mis-sold PPI?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -

Absolutely. You could have provided your own sleeve at lower cost, yet they failed to offer you that option. Put a claim in now to all the banks just in case one of them ever loaned money to the coffee shop.0 -

And even if you once maybe did this within the last 25yrs but can't remember the date, the drink, the establishment or even whether you did or not it's still worth writing to all of them in case you were mis-sold :rotfl:0
