Reversed into on a carpark, go through insurance or not?

As above, insurance is the way to go. I had a similar issue a number of years ago where I reversed off a drive and was parallel to the kerb and stationary when the neighbour opposite reversed off his drive into my driver door.
The insurer originally tried the 50/50 route but when I explained that it was impossible for me to drive sideways and the fact he didn't "see" me suggested that the fault was entirely his they eventually backed down.0 -
although maybe not relevant in this case you should ideally reverse in. Safer for you exiting the space, other cars and pedestrians in the car park. Children have been killed on many occasions by people reversing out.
Driving courses I have been on have been big advocates of this.0 -
If you accept the 50% on offer as a private deal bear in mind that you are agreeing you were 50% liable
Which would mean you are liable for 50% of all the other side's costs including eg hire car/unspecified repairs/loss of earnings/compensation for injuries etc
Let the insurers deal with this0 -
OP !!!!!! look at all the threads on here saying did a private deal and it all went wrong.0
