Bathroom Renovation advice

Options
Not sure if this would be the best place to place this post in the forum. We need to change the whole bathroom (tiles and all), there is not too much budget so we are just thinking wickes would be the most "affordable" place. This is not exactly DIY so I don't know if anybody would have any advice of current offers or any place. Thanks a lot in advance.

If you use Wickes for installation, remember that whatever wickes quote for installation, the fitters get between one third and one half of that figure. The rest goes to Wickes profits. Not very MSE

It's considerably more cost effective to go with a well-recommended plumber who has an account with trade bathroom suppliers; we always give a -much- better price to a tradesperson than we do the public and some of them will pass that saving (or a part of it at least) on to you.

Going to "full project" retailers like Wickes is always going to cost you a lot more in the long run. They charge more to fit than the plumber will, and they charge more on the product than independents/trade suppliers will.

It's the easy solution, but it's by no means the most affordable.

If it's a question of not having the funds available to purchase outright, consider getting a bank loan; the saving on the fitting & the products will massively outweigh the cost of paying interest on a small loan.

Its been a few years but when we did ours, we bought our suite and everything ourselves to get more choice. Then paid a local recommended plumber and tiler to fit. It was so much cheaper and totally unique! A middle of the range loo and basin from local posh bathroom shop and basic double ended bath from BnQ along with posh taps from Wickes. We saved £1000s from the quote we got for an "identikit" all in bathroom. Try local facebook groups to find a well recommended bathroom fitter and start there.

Thank you so much for all the advice. I have never considered buying the bath units independently and paying a plumber and a tiler, I don't know why really but it makes so much sense. Thank you so much for the input, I will check units and plumber separate.
