Economy 7 and Smart Meters

I have been on E7 for many years even though I do not have electric heating. I have a radio teleswitch which gives me the night rate from 1.00am to 8.00 am all the year round. I have always found these hours very advantageous giving me an annual 30% consumption on average at the lower rate. Now with green generation the E7 rates on offer are even better.

If I move to a Smart Meter, who determines what the low rate times will be? Are there any Suppliers / Smart Meters out there that give better low rate hours?

I don't want to loose the low rate to 8.00 am I enjoy at the moment which works to my advantage.

A smart meter will be timeswitched rather than teleswitched.

(which was meant to be turned off years ago, but keeps getting renewed because companies fail to get rid of all the old meters, but one day the government will resell the radio bandwidth so it is no going to stay indefinatly).

Anyway. Last I looked there were 22 timeswitched E7 tarrifs. This was 2009 so who knows what it is like now! 01:00-08:00 is indeed one of them, but 00:00-07:00 or 00:30-07:30 are by far the most common. There are even split e7 timeswitched tarrifs. However I think a lot of these are now classed as legacy. Some are pretty area dependent, 1-8 maybe pretty normal for yout area. Care to give us a clue? (https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/key-term-explained/map-who-operates-electricity-distribution-network will suffice, though there are a few border areas where it gets a little confusing).

My E7 hours are 10:30pm - 12:30am and 2:30am - 7:30am GMT (+1 when BST) which is handy for 'double dipping'.
