Welcome Hamper

We moved into our new house last week and yesterday received a nice and unexpected welcome hamper from Yorkshire Bank in the post. It has a bottle of wine, chocolates, biscuits and fudge in it. My sister was rather jealous as she took out a Yorkshire Bank mortgage last year and didn't receive anything.

For fun (if anything about a mortgage can be fun!), just curious if other mortgage providers do this and what others have received.

We didn't receive a hamper from the mortgage provider but we did get a lovely hamper from David Wilson Homes when we moved in.

All we got from the mortgage provider on move in day was a letter on the doormat to remind us that our first payment would be larger than usual :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The letter arrived with the hamper, perhaps to soften the blow!!

We were told by the estate agent for our seller that there would be a 'welcome hamper' for us, but it never materialised. I'm sure it would have been lovely if it had :rotfl:

Accord do something similar and I think Skipton do or used to. There may be one or 2 smaller building societies who do something similar.

We got a box from Nationwide about 1-2 weeks after moving in, containing a pack of loo paper, a roll of kitchen paper and some snacks and promotional material. It was a nice touch.

The welcome gift from the developer was much posher, picture frame, bath towel, Reed Diffuser and something else that i forgot about from The White Company.

Yorkshire Bank or Yorkshire Building Society?

I suspect it's the latter as YBS subsidiary Accord does it, as does Nationwide and Halifax.

No, definitely Yorkshire Bank. I think it's a new thing as my sister didn't get one just over a year ago.
