Hi,
What sort of template / structure can I find to send an overpayment relief claim to HMRC (SDLTM54000)?
Thanks for any help!

For the procedure for claiming overpayment relief see also this page: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/stamp-duty-land-tax-online-and-paper-returns under the heading "Mistakes on your SDLT return that are more than 12 months old" reading the text relevant to overpayment relief.
I see from your earlier posts that this is about claiming back the extra 3% paid on the purchase of a new home when the old home was sold later (within the three years) but the usual time limit for applying for a refund under this procedure https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/stamp-duty-land-tax-apply-for-a-repayment-of-the-higher-rates-for-additional-properties was missed. On that basis I expect you will include with the letter the correspondence with HMRC about that earlier application.0 -
Thank you for your reply. It is indeed regarding that. My local MP got the same reply as Deidre Taylor received on the other thread. Unfortunately, she hasn't replied to any of my messages asking what she wrote to be accepted for her claim. However, I am hoping that by following the process she had success with, I may be lucky!0
