BP Stansted MET Parking Yellow Lines

Hello,
3 months ago i was in a hire vehicle, i had a bit of an emergency with the baby in the back whilst on the A120 so i got off at stansted and pulled over in BP for 5 minutes as it was the safest place to stop. Sorted out my child and then drove off, didn’t even turn my engine off. I received a penalty charge from MET parking forwarded to me by the Hire Company that is dated back in May. With photos of the hire vehicle saying i had stopped on a yellow line which is prohibited. MET wanted £100 And also the hire company wanted £60 admin fee for getting a charge whilst on hire. £160 for safely pulling over to see to my child, off the main road and not in anyones way. The terms and conditions in my hire agreement state i am liable for the parking charges. MET say the signage is clear, i disagree. As you drive in there is a small sign which has small print t&c’s. Who has time to read through them when your entering a busy forecourt? Admittedly i didn’t see the sign or see the yellow lines as my mind was elsewhere! I appealed and they rejected saying the signage is very clear and i can pay £60 if i pay with 14 days of yesterday. Again. I disagree. Is it worth going to POPLA?
