If in the future your laptop fails but the hard drive is ok, you could always buy a 'bare bones' laptop and put your old drive in. I was reading my Uncles PC magazine at the weekend and there was a laptop in there for £219 (?) I think. It was highly rated by them but I don't think it had wireless internet capabilities.
