Poorly fitted flooring

Hi there

I came across this website while looking for some advice.

Very briefly, we have new laminate flooring supplied and fitted by a local company on 2nd August but the finish is terrible. Beading is not cut straight and looks awful.

They sent a fitter out again yesterday and did rectify most of the issues but it still looks I've fitted it.

I do wonder if I am being picky but to me it looks awful.

I paid for this in full upon receipt of the companies invoice (before work was carried out) Paid by bank transfer.

The fitter doesn't think there is a problem with the work. I would be so grateful if I could get some advice. I would like them to rectify the work as we would like to get the decorators in... Ideally, we would have got the decorators in first but we had a flood and massive hole in the ceiling.

Here is a link to onedrive with the images

    That is shocking.
I would be getting them to re do the whole job.
  • Hi, yes that's it... I uploaded them to OneDrive. I just look at it and want to cry. The images in the remedial folder are the things left to do. Their fitter has signed it off as complete. I'm not happy with it

    I can't see the photo!

Go back to the local company and tell them you are not happy with their work, and want the manager to come out and take a look at it. Let them know it needs rectifying, and ask when they can do this.

If they refuse, get an independent fitter to write a statement saying what is wrong with it, then send the company a letter before action insisting they refit the floor or you will take them to court.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
