It sprang out of a Japanese Barberry Plant after going into the ground!

Looks a bit like bamboo.

    Terribly invasive weed that will take over very quickly unless you get all of it out, particularly as it is now flowering. I have spent many an hour “balsam-bashing” with the NT to remove this from riverbanks, a never-ending task...
