in Credit cards
The local trader who is putting in a few windows for me does not accept credit cards as he gets a 2% fee.
So i was wondering is the best way to get a 0% money transfer credit cards and transfer the money to his bank this way (as he accepts BACS or cheque)? Then i will also get the credit card protection rights on the windows?
Or does it not work like that?

You won't be covered by S75 protection by doing what you suggest. If it's S75 you're looking for, then see if the company will accept a part payment by credit card - you only need to pay 1p by credit card, and the rest can be in cash, to be covered by S75 (subject to the usual limits).0

Section 75 isn’t covered by a money transfer.0

Pay a small amount by credit card and offer to cover the 2% fee.
If he accepts card payments then pay the rest by debit card.
I would let cash and money transfer be the last option and only if there was no other way.0 -
Or find a Glazier who will take CC. It's a buyers market after all. The tradesman should consider absorbing the 2% fee. Lest he lose business to those who will. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
