Deceased’s buildings insurance

My mother passed away in Feb and we moved in to her house in May. The house insurance is due for renewal but the current provider, the AA won’t insure us as the title deed hasn’t yet been transferred into our names as per her will. Probate has already been granted and I am the executor as well as joint beneficiary. It’s not possible to affect the title transfer within 7 days as we are going on holiday. Can anyone please advise as to what to do? Thanks.

Just read on Homeprotect website that I can take out a policy if I can show an “insurable interest”, the policy will usually be issued in the name of the executor with any beneficiaries named as additional policyholders.0

Yes Home Protect are usually helpful in such situations. Policy would be in the name of executor of Mrs xxxxxxx and can note other interests.The comments I post are personal opinion. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
