Highview Parking charge

Hi,
I received a Charge Notice from Highview Parking saying they do not have sufficient evidence that a parking payment was made for the duration of my visit.
I parked in the Tesco's carpark in Streatham (next to the Leisure Centre) and as this was my first time I was not aware that there were separate car parks for each property (there is a split as you enter). The signage was not obvious and I parked on the Leisure Centre side of the car park by mistake. I did my shop at Tesco's (at that time assuming I was in their carpark) and left the carpark without making a payment for parking as their (Tesco's) ticket machine was not working and said to exit as normal. From the photo evidence provided in the letter, it appears to only show the vehicle entering and leaving the building (not where it was parked).
I then received the letter from Highview Parking asking me to make a payment of £80 or £40 within 14 days of the letter. However, I noticed the letter was dated a week before I received it and more than 2 weeks after the incident. I'm not sure if this is true but I heard somewhere you need to receive a Notice Charge within 14 days of the incident for it to be valid and feel they've fabricated the date it was issued.
I am concerned that that this might be a scam
- The letter doesn't seem genuine due to the poor print quality
- There is no security certificate on their website and the suggested payment site. I don't feel safe giving out my bank details online.
- Every method of payment suggested (phone, online, post) there is a administration charge, this is not usually the case based on tickets I've received before from the council etc.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to handle this or if it is safe to ignore the notice? Thanks!

None of this matters in a Highview case. Search the forum for HIGHVIEW and laugh - we assume you read the NEWBIES thread already and know how to appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
