giffgaff closes free credit report service

giffgaff is pulling the plug on its free credit report service from 30th August 2019.

From an email they sent me:
Our free credit reports service is shutting down.

On 30 August 2019 members will no longer be able to access our free credit report.

Rest assured, at this time all your personal data will be securely deleted.

We appreciate you joining us along this journey, and apologise for any inconvenience.

  • I wonder if TransUnion is clamping down on who can provide access to their reporting.

It's a shame really as GiffGaff updated on a daily basis when you logged into it.

Guess I'll just have to stick with CreditKarma and the 7 day update timeframe!

Perhaps they've been looking here on MSE and realised we see beyond the 'scores' they quote...!
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
  • It was an unnecessary service anyway.

    Transunion offer it anyway?

Granted it's not quite the same but it's not far off.

Well TransUnion is the CRA providing the data.

The only good thing about the GiffGaff report, as stated above, is that it updates when logging in rather than every 7/14/30 days.
