Economy energy undercharged - final bill

I have been with Economy Energy from September 2017- October 2018 and have been billed this June as the company has ceased trading and they were reviewing their accounts I guess? I only checked now in August because I received an explicit email stating I owed them £547.95 for gas.

Most of the readings throughout the year were estimations but in March 2018 we provided a reading of 2166 and from that point forward their estimations fluctuated a bit before they started dropping drastically and on the 16th October 2018 they approximated 1100... We moved out on the 28th October and provided a reading of 2940. Now they have billed us more than £500 for the period between 16-28 October.

Firstly, I am quite annoyed because it feels they competently disregarded our reading. If we said we were at more than 2000 units it doesn't make any sense for the readings to go down instead of up. Also because it's a final bill and covers a period for less than two weeks, form what I've read, I can't ask them to provide us with a longer period of time to pay this. I also know that because they billed us within 12 months we have to pay it but it all feels very unfair as they're at fault and I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this before and if they have some advice?

Welcome to the long line of Economy Energy customers waiting for bill reviews and refunds. I also left them last October. I also had a final bill but in May. I demanded a relook since the billing was incompetent to say the least and I'm still waiting for the revised bill that was apparently on its way to me in July. I've also contacted the administrators and not heard a thing. It's going to be a long wait. All I can say is don't pay the bill unless you are happy with the calculations. I had fake metre readings and crazy recalculations that made no sense once the prices changed last October. I'm fairly sure they owe me rather than the other way round (and that's why it's inaccurate). Ignore any bullying tactics from EE. They are desperately trying to plug their financial plug hole.
