Problem is that the cameras are not all that reliable. They are much better than the mobile ones, and especially the hand-held ones, but not infallible.

As such your choice is to drive at/just under the sped limit and risk a false accusation, or drive well below the speed limit to protect yourself.
I've never been done, nor know anyone who has been, for driving at the prevailing speed limit through a fixed camera. I have followed plenty of idiots who drive at the speed limit then brake suddenly and crawl past the same said camera.

I'm afraid that post gives you no credibility whatsoever.

I am sure everyone that has been convicted of a speeding offence waits with baited breath for your expert evidence that none of the devices held in law to be accurate are not, so that they can have their convictions quashed...

Will it be a long wait?

Or are you talking out of your posterior? I know which I would put my money on ;)

As Neilmcl says, hold ups near my home on the M4 are caused mainly by people slowing down to 30 in a 50 because there are average speed cameras in existence. That's one aspect of enforcement by camera that has become a tautology - many people drive according to where there are cameras. But without a much bigger injection of traffic officers, this is not about to change.
