Just want to give a big shout out to the contributors to this forum, UKPC just threw in the towel on their £1500 claim against me, and I couldn't have done it without you....
Seriously considering having my 'Notice of discontinuance' framed and mounted :rotfl:
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who gives their time and knowledge so freely - I didn't really even need to ask that many questions, all the information on the whole process from Letter Before Action to how to compile my Witness Statement and Statement of Defence was out there for me.
My heart goes out to anyone who lost their case but want to encourage everyone still in the process of going to or attempting to avoid going to court to pay real good attention to the advice on these pages; they might just save you a costly day in front of a judge.

Well done you
They knew that a judge would see through their scam and whoop them.
Now it's your turn, send them your account for all your costs and time wasted, must amount to least £200 ??0 -
I guess I should I suppose.. have had my fingers crossed on this one for so long I'm going to need a crowbar to separate them.
There are so many pages of people being shafted by UKPC and SCS Law, maybe we need a new thread on how best to repay the favour as I hadn't given much thought to what I could claim back.0 -

I would, you could dream up some rubbish to include the fake £60, these idiots do.
Stupid solicitor for letting it get that far0 -
The regulars who help with court cases are amazing aren't they? To me this is how the internet should be. Not enough pics of cats in hats obviously, but nobody's perfect.
I mean ... where else is such there such well-informed advice and support, for free, from people who, being anonymous, don't get the recognition they would in the 'real' world.
And bloody well done you too!0 -

Here's a starter for ten (or maybe £900).

There you go. A great win today for you. Hopefully an even bigger win for you in the near future. Keep us in the loop on how you decide to proceed. :TPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That's really good news. Well done.

I take it this was a residential parking space? If so, have you considered suing them for data breach and/or harassment? Read this.

...and once again I am dumbfounded by the generosity (and malevolent desire to see parking companies hauled over hot coals, of course) of the group.
As it was a discontinuance I might likely never know which bit of my defence swung the odds but it was 5 tickets in a permit only car park that used to lead to the driveway past my flat which the landowner blocked with bollards, so I had a Right of Way defence but also a 'distance contract' signage defence and a breach of BPA AOS defence as there was no 'P' signage at the entrance.
I was 'almost' looking forward to the case being heard before UKPC chickened out and I definitely now investigate my next steps.
I had considered counterclaiming under the pretense that the residue left on my windscreen from the adhesive pouches had needed professional cleaning and nearly included 5 invoices for £60 each from 'Sticky Tickets' Cleaning Co but decided against it, just in case .... but it would now appear I do have options and will let the group know how it goes.
Keep up the good work
