We have a small (12" square) plastic tub - filled with over 100 (10*10) spring onions - that are really thriving - we have been picking them for 2 months and the numbers don't seem to be diminishing ...
The seeds cost £1.25 and we have only used about 1/4 of them

Envious - my spring onions never worked (well I think I got one, maybe two)

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Perhaps they get lonely and need company ?

I think the 'company' was a band of marauding slugs

Also envious. My cat has either dug up or eaten every single onion/ garlic/ shallot/ spring onion I've planted this year. Yes, I think he's weird too.

Actually, garlic can be incredibly toxic to cats — even in doses as little as one small clove. In severe cases, garlic toxicity in cats can even lead to organ damage, organ failure or death. ... Garlic belongs to the allium family, along with onions, leeks, shallots and chives.

Yep they can be weird little sods. A little leaf chewing may not harm them, but best not encouraged or tolerated as yes onion is toxic to cats. Ours likes bamboo of all things. It must be the texture, because she also likes to chomp on the lemon grass & tumeric I have in pots (both apparently safe)
