Carers Allowance Carer Element UC

I've just been reading another thread that mentions the above but though I would start my own thread so theres no confusion!
I claim carers allowance for my husband £264.60 monthly If/when we move over to uc the carers element is £160.20 I monthly.
So reading what I have the carers allowance would be deducted £ for £ from uc but a carers element would be added £160.20 meaning we would be worse off by £104.40 a month.
Is that how it works, have I read it correctly.

Why would you be worse off? You'll have the carers element of UC added and Carers Allowance will pay you separately then you'll be £160 better off.
Carers Allowance affects UC in the same way it affects Income Related ESA/JSA and Income support. Then there's a cares premium added. When claiming any of these it's deducted £1 for £1. You still receive the Carers Allowance in addition to those.0 -
