Online PPI enquiry form or complaint form???

Hi,
I know that I'm cutting it fine, but foolishly, reclaiming PPI has never made it to the top of my "To-do" list until now.
I have just started to fill in the online enquiry forms with various lenders to check if I had PPI but a few of them say that it could take 14 to 28 days to reply.
Bearing in mind the imminent deadline, I am now wondering whether I should just be filling in the online complaint form instead of waiting for confirmation that I had PPI to avoid missing the deadline.
Any useful advise would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi
My understanding is that all lenders need to treat enquiries as complaints now in the lead up to the deadline . However , I think just to be safe , raise each ‘enquiry’ as complaint as I don’t know if the above is a written rule that all lenders need to adhere to.0 -

Other than an inconvenience for the Bank at this late stage, the only downside is that your "complaint" will not be very compelling if you are complaining about something you likely never had.
What will your complaint reasons be if you don't know whether you had the insurance?
Remember, it's not somehow automatically wrong to have had a policy. In order for it to be refunded (if you had it) PPI must have been mis-sold to you.
Can you not find any documentation in your own archive?0
