OK - So I did a stupid thing but....

I paid my credit card balance off another family members account with the same card provider in error
As a result I incurred interest - however the account was in credit for almost 5 weeks.
Both accounts have always been paid in full and on time since the year dot and have never incurred any interest.

Am I be unrealistic in asking them to waive the interest in these circumstances???

I think you are being unrealistic given the period of time involved.

As its a "first offence", its always worth a try. Just play the "more confused than normal/temporary insanity" card (it usually works for me) and throw yourself upon their mercy.

The worst they can do is say "no". If they do, then all you can do is write it down to experience. Some lessons cannot be taught, they can only be learned.

Ooops didn't explain very well.

My account was paid only about 6 days later than it should have been which was when I realised the mistake. The other account had only just been paid for the previous month and therefore was in credit for a few weeks....
