Credit Club credit card suggestions did not succeed

Hi all, just signed up to Credit Club to see what credit card deals I could get. I selected the top choiceof a 95% success rate and got rejected.

I am at a loss for words. Anyone else had this happen?

    Yes, lots of people.

These eligibility checkers are very rough guides and can't be relied on 100%.

In any case, 95% obviously means that 5% would be rejected so perhaps it was accurate and you were just one of the unlucky ones.

5 out of every 100 people won't make it past - that's 50 out of every 1000 - that's a bus load. Don't take it personally - but have a read of some of the previous threads on the boards here to understand why it might have happened. There are a myriad of factors that will stop you getting a credit card - have you made sure that all your data is up to date on the various credit agency reports?

I find the credit card companies own eligibility checker more reliable also try your'e bank as they know you and what you earn, my bank gave me my highest limit almost double my other highest limit.

Many, if not most CC companies now offer soft eligibility searches, pre application. These are absolutely the way to go.

Alas, remember a "rejection" isn't marked on your file, only a single search. So nothing to worry about.

What was your expectation? It is a guide, not an absolute.

That is a good idea, I have only done Experian so far. I also noticed, they did not have any house rental history for me, which struck me as odd.

Great idea. Thet will have an intimate history of my financial comings and goings.

It would be odd if they did.

Is your landlord part of one of the reporting schemes?
