Fined by Elite Management (Midlands) Ltd

Hi, My dad had a fine stuck on his car window screen from Elite Management (Midlands) Ltd for "not parking wholly in bay facing a wall". Basically, he parked just over the white line.
First of all he thought it was a joke so decided to pop into the local solicitors, who he has dealt with before to see if it was legal. They said yes and that they too had received these fines, advising him to just pay it.
So he went to the post office and sent a Postal Order by first class mail.
Now, one week later, he has had no response and if they don't receive it by 14 days, he will owe double. There is no phone number for this company to actually speak to anyone. He only has an address in Walsall.
I have enquired at the Post Office, who advised reporting it as lost. He made a mistake by not sending it with Proof of Postage or Recorded Delivery.
What should he do now?

Paying it was not sensible. They will cash the order after the so called discount period has expired. They will then tell him it was late and charge him more.

Can you cancel the postal order and get your money back? I must admit I don't know if that's possible.

Neither your Dad nor any of the solicitors received a fine. They got an invoice.

Sounds as if these solicitors are best avoided for any future advice.

check if Elite are on the BPA AOS site or the IPC AOS site

I suspect they were banned or demoted or whatever, so should not have been contacted UNLESS a postal notice came through the door

ie:- not to a windscreen ticket

anything can happen with these cowboys, be it Elite or anyone else

once you start contacting cowboys and sending out money, its a minefield

those solicitors havent got a clue
  • elite (midlands)are banned from the BPA and have no DVLA access

they will have long cashed that PO

the solicitor should reemberse you for giving you false info

Well remembered. They aren't on either AOS list. Sadly your dad has been conned.

Those solicitors want shouting at too. This company can't get DVLA data so have no idea who to send a bill to. In other words unless you voluntarily give them your details and money they can't do a thing.
