Photo ID Info Gathering

I'm guessing that this is not the thread to be posting in but it's the closest to my situation that I could find as my problem fits many threads at once.
So I apologise in advance.
As you know when you go to certain places for one reason or another and they ask for proof of ID, and preferably a Photo ID.
Buying alcohol. Proof of ID please.
Picking up parcel from the Post Office. Proof of ID please.
And other places and situations.
Sometimes places like the Post Office accept things like Bank Statements etc as proof, but our Post Office has a habit of asking for something like 4 different statements instead of a single Drivers License or Passport.
The thing is, I don't have a Drivers License anymore (Medical reasons made the DVLA take it away), and I've never seen a Passport outside of TV like those Airport Customs shows.
Also, you can't really go to a supermarket for a crate of beer and when they ask for proof of ID, and show them half a dozen statements.
I've been searching for legal alternatives and the only one that I can find is something like a Citizens ID card. However, upon looking for places where to get one, I've hit a scary dead end.
There are like over a dozen websites offering such things in different forms from the bog standard ID Card, or give you a digital card which you use in a phone app, and other methods. Not to mention an ongoing history of fraud/scammer websites setup to steal your personal details instead of giving you your ID Card, or give you your ID Card, but still steal your personal details anyway.
I don't know which website is legit, or if there are alternatives Proof of ID methods.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
