Received a letter from SCS Law regarding debt owed to UK Parking Control for an outstanding amount of £160.
Has anyone received similar and what did you have to do? The letter says not to ignore but speaking to other people this is all part of a scam. Really concerned can anyone shed light on what to do next? This is an on going since the 15/01/2019 because I have parked my car in the Cardiff Brooklands retail not within the marking space not even for 10 minutes to buy sandwiches from Aldy supermarket catching the parking attended giving me a parking charge of £100 just for that! Ever since I have ignored all the threats sent to me every 2 weeks from 2 different debt collectors which stated that if I don’t pay the amount of £160 their client may consider legal action and will have impact of my credit profile etc finally on the 31/07/2019 I received another one from SCS law that if I do not pay the £160 debt to the dept collectors their client may take legal action and I will pay all the court expenses could you possibly help ASAP?
Thank you

Calm down. At the top of this board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. It actually answers all your questions.
Have you asked Aldi to cancel it? If not do so.0 -
No I did not because I didn’t know what to do I had never come across to such a situation and I was in a hurry to attend an interview at Cardiff airport after travelling from the north0

I love it, SCSLAW still supporting known fraudsters UKPC
Pay the debt collectors ...... are SCS Law on the funny stuff, nobody pays the idiot debt collectors as they are powerless
SCSLaw are now abusing POFA2012 which says clearly
"This additional charge is not recoverable under the protection of freedoms act 2012, Schedule 4
PLUS: They fail the county courts rules of double recovery.
READ THIS ...... SCSLaw are trying out the same wheeze

SCSLaw know this but they think you are a mug ???
If you get a LETTER BEFORE CLAIM giving you 30 days to respond and proof of their claim, come back here and lets ZAP SCSLaw0 -
Thank you very much for the reply0

I know that carpark well. On the date you mention, UKPC had just infested the site. The markings of bays such as they were were just a little T mark on the edge, and often barely existent. The bays therefore were more in the mind of the parking wombat than physically existing. They have only recently been repainted to full length of the bays. The signs also are not compliant I believe, high up, small print, blue on white making it even more difficult/impossible to read, and no large print amount of charge amount. These will all help defence if it goes to court.
I would request a SAR from UKPC and get all the photos they have of your vehicle. Also write a complaint to the CEO of Aldi. Make sure you don't identify the driver, remove references to driver in original post, use words Driver, Keeper etc. Check Notice to Keeper is compliant or not. e.g. recieved in right timescale etc0 -
Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your posts to remove details of who was driving
The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you in Court0 -
Make a formal complaint that the solicitors are behaving unprofessional here.

UKPC are fraudsters, read this
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html
and complain to your MP as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
